Performance and Features
At the heart of the Palm Treo 180 is the Motorola DragonBall VZ MC68VZ328 processor, clocked at a modest 33 MHz. Coupled with 16MB of internal memory, the device was capable of running basic applications smoothly, though it pales in comparison to modern smartphones. The absence of a memory card slot emphasized the limitations in storage capacity, which was not uncommon for devices in that era.
One of the significant facets of the Treo 180 is its communication capability. However, its options were rather basic, supporting only GSM 900/1800 bands or GSM 900/1900 bands for the US version. Connectivity features were limited; it lacked GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS functionalities. It did, however, include an infrared port for short-range wireless data transfer, a common feature before Bluetooth became ubiquitous. For internet browsing, the device came with the Blazer 2.0 browser, which was designed to handle basic HTML pages.
