Display and User Interface
The X700 features a 2.0-inch TFT main display capable of showing 65K colors with a resolution of 176 x 208 pixels. Although modest by today's standards, this was fairly typical for the time and allows for clear, if not vibrant, viewing of text and images. The screen-to-body ratio is about 26.8%, indicative of its clamshell design. An additional secondary display (64 x 96 pixels) capable of 4096 colors is present, useful for seeing time, caller ID, and other notifications without opening the phone. Running on Symbian 7.0s with a Series 60 user interface, the OS was once popular for its balance of functionality and simplicity, catering to users who needed more than just basic calling and texting functions.
