Connectivity and Communication
In terms of connectivity, the Philips 530 operated on GSM 900 / 1800 networks and supported GPRS Class 10 for mobile data, enough to handle basic Internet browsing via its WAP 1.2.1 browser. However, it lacked advanced connectivity options such as Bluetooth, WLAN, or USB, with infrared communication being the only alternative for wirelessly exchanging small files. While the phone lacked positioning features, its stereo FM radio offered entertainment value.
