Performance and Software
Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset, the Grand 2 housed a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz and an Adreno 305 GPU. This setup was adequate for average daily tasks though it struggled with more intensive applications or gaming. It shipped with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, with an upgrade path to 4.4.2 KitKat, which brought improvements like a more efficient UI and better memory management.
The 1.5 GB of RAM, paired with 8 GB of internal storage, made multitasking and storage somewhat restrictive, though this was typical in its segment. Fortunately, a dedicated microSDXC slot was available for up to 64GB of expandable storage, a crucial feature for storing media and applications.
