With no card slot available, the storage capabilities of the X490 were limited to built-in capacities. Its internal memory could handle up to 500 phonebook entries and store call records for 20 dialed, 20 received, and 20 missed calls. However, with only 3MB of internal storage, users were restricted significantly when it came to data and multimedia, able to manage about 200 short messages but little else.
