Hardware and Performance
Under the hood, the G1 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7201A chipset, with a 528 MHz ARM 11 CPU and an Adreno 130 GPU. These components may seem modest by today’s high-performance standards, but they were adequate for handling basic smartphone tasks in 2008, such as browsing, messaging, and running early Android apps. The phone came with 192 MB of RAM and 256 MB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card, allowing users to store additional apps, photos, and other media files.
