Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Sidekick 4G is powered by a Hummingbird chipset and a 1.0 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU, along with a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. While these specifications might sound basic today, they provided a smooth multitasking experience for 2011. Operating on Android 2.2 (Froyo), the device was capable of running most apps available at the time with ease. Android 2.2 offered features like Adobe Flash support and a broad compatibility with Google services, rounding out the Sidekick's capabilities as a smartphone of its era.
