The iPad featured a 9.7-inch IPS LCD screen, which was generous in size at the time, allowing for an immersive viewing experience. The display resolution was 768 x 1024 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio, translating to a pixel density of approximately 132 ppi. This resulted in decent clarity, though it was not as sharp as later iterations of the iPad. The screen also came equipped with scratch-resistant glass and an oleophobic coating to help reduce fingerprint smudging.
