Display
The iPhone 3GS features a 3.5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. This results in a pixel density of approximately 165 ppi, which was relatively modest, even by 2009 standards. While the screen only occupies about 50.9% of the front of the device, its strength lay in its toughened Corning Gorilla Glass and oleophobic coating, both of which offered scratch resistance and reduced finger smudges—features that were highly appreciated by users.
