Google Pixel XL Design and Build Quality

Design and Build Quality

The Pixel XL was introduced with a design that combined functionality and a premium feel. Its dimensions of 154.7 x 75.7 x 8.5 mm and a weight of 168 grams made it a relatively large device, common among phablets of the time. The phone features a solid build with Gorilla Glass 4 protecting its front and a distinctive two-tone design on the back, where aluminum meets a glossy glass segment. The use of an aluminum frame added to its durability, while water-repellent coating provided some protection against splashes. However, unlike modern smartphones, the Pixel XL was not fully waterproof.
