Under the hood, the i-mate SPL is powered by a 200 MHz ARM926EJ-S processor, running on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone. Designed for basic smartphone tasks, the CPU and operating system combination provided a user experience adequate for its time, allowing for limited multitasking and access to a range of productivity and communication applications. With 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage, users had to manage their data wisely, though there was support for expandable storage via a miniSD card.
