The Philips 162 boasts a compact form factor, measuring 98 x 45 x 18.5 mm, and weighing just 82 grams. Its design is pocket-friendly and discreet, which was typical for devices of that era. Users had the option to choose from four color variants: Silver Crystal, Red Ruby, Silver Quartz, and Black Onyx, offering a touch of personalization. The display is a CSTN type with 4096 colors, sufficiently vibrant for basic tasks. Despite its modest resolution of 101 x 80 pixels, spanning five lines, the display served well for viewing contacts and messages, alongside some screensavers and wallpapers.
