Philips 162 Performance and Storage

Performance and Storage

Under the hood, the Philips 162 came with limited functionality by today's standards but sufficient for its time. The phone did not support advanced network technologies like GPRS or EDGE; it operated on GSM 2G networks at 900/1800 bands, aligning with its purpose as a basic mobile communication tool. The phonebook could store up to 100 entries with Fotocall capabilities, and call records could hold 20 of the most recent received, dialed, and missed calls. Internally, it carried 4MB of memory, with only 0.3MB available to the user—a limitation typical of that period, as applications and files were not demanding.
