Features and Functionality
The Philips 162 did not include a camera, and its multimedia capabilities were quite limited. There was no loudspeaker or 3.5mm audio jack, emphasizing its primary use for calls and basic messaging. Users could receive alerts via vibration and polyphonic ringtones, which could be downloaded. Communication features included SMS and EMS support, along with a WAP 1.2.1 browser for elementary mobile internet access. The inclusion of three games—Brick, Snake, and Master Mind—provided simple entertainment. Unfortunately, it lacked Java support, so additional applications or games could not be installed.
