In terms of photography, the iPhone 3G was equipped with a single 2 MP rear camera. Although rudimentary without the ability to capture video or employ a front-facing camera, this was acceptable at a time when mobile photography was still emerging. The camera served well for casual snapshots but left much to be desired in terms of image clarity and detail when compared to successors.
