Overview and Design
The Motorola MPx, announced in early 2004, is a device that exemplifies a unique blend of innovative design and early smartphone features. Although now discontinued, the MPx was ahead of its time, both in form and function. Its dimensions of 99.7 x 61.2 x 24 mm and a weight of 174 grams make it relatively compact but hefty, accommodating a dual-hinge that allowed for both clamshell and traditional PDA-style operations. This design ingenuity included a full QWERTY keyboard, catering to business users who valued productivity on the go. The phone uses a Mini-SIM card and a resistive TFT touchscreen that supports 65k colors. While the screen's 2.8-inch size and 240 x 320 pixels resolution might seem modest by today’s standards, at the time, it provided an adequate display experience, albeit with a somewhat low 39.8% screen-to-body ratio.
