Connectivity and Communication
The Motorola MPx offered a range of connectivity options for its time, including GSM support on the 900/1800/1900 bands, GPRS, and Wi-Fi 802.11b for wireless connectivity. However, it did not feature EDGE for faster data speeds. Bluetooth 1.1 was included, providing wireless communication with other devices, though the lack of positioning services like GPS limited its use in navigation. The presence of an infrared port catered to file sharing and device sync in an era before Bluetooth dominated. Notably, the absence of FM radio and the use of a proprietary USB interface were limitations that users had to work around.
